Jody began her entertainment career over 30 years ago in Michigan and has made a plethora of appearances on stage, film and television. Her theatre work garnered her Best Actress Awards for roles in VERONICA’S ROOM, EQUUS, and THE GINGERBREAD LADY; and received acclaim for her Command Performance for Sir Basil Rathbone, as “Kate” in TAMING OF THE SHREW.

VARIETY film reviewer, Robert Koehler wrote “Jody Jaress – excellent” referring to her strong supporting role as Rhea, in the award winning Indie feature film, CHAIN LINK, directed by Dylan Reynolds.

Her notoriety as a character actress claims diverse roles in the horror flick: “2 Bedroom 1 Bath” with Dee Wallace and Eric Roberts; “Hollywoodland” starring Ben Affleck and Adrien Brody; “Frenemy”; “Chinaman’s Chance” with Reggie Lee, Ernest Borgnine and Timothy Bottoms; “Absolute Evil the Final Exit” with David Carradine and many others working with iconic directors like Mike Nichols.  Some television guest star roles include, “Days Of Our Lives,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” various roles on, “Michael Nesmith’s Television Parts,” and several series regular as Anime’ and Manga character voices such as, LuLu in “I, My, Me Strawberry Eggs”, and a variety of voices in the popular Rumiko Takahashi Anthology Series. 

On April 30, 2015, for her years of performing and contribution to the jazz and blues community, Jody was Honored as a “Jazz and Blues Living Legend” and Inducted into the foundation by the Duke Ellington Society of L.A., the Living Legend Foundation, JaZzabration, NAACP Beverly Hills and Hollywood, and by the City of Los Angeles as an official event to celebrate “International Jazz Day” created by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and held annually since 2011, around the globe in more than 196 countries to date.

Jody was awarded the prestigious USO pin for her dedication and many years of service to our armed forces performing at various military camp sites and US Naval ships.
